Business Support

Supporting businesses is one of our key strategic priorities. If you are a Yorkshire-based screen media business we:

· can invest in your business to help it grow. Our Business Investment Fund exists to create sustainable jobs and wealth in the region and can provide funding for projects including marketing, research or training.

· operate the Vital Statistics benchmarking and business consultancy tool which analyses your company's performance compared to competitors and allows you to plan how to grow your business with our support.

· run a number of events to support your business including our Meet the Commissioner events where we bring national broadcasters to the region.

· can offer up to 50% for employees to access training and development opportunities. We can also fund mentoring for senior managers and company owners.

· can offer advice and contacts, bringing companies together to work jointly on cross-platform projects

For further information about any of these opportunities, please contact Kim Heeramun, Industry Development Coordinator on 0113 236 8246 or email kim@screenyorkshire.co.uk

Case StudySunday Life

Sunday Life

Yorkshire is rapidly gaining a reputation in the industry as a hotbed for interactive media and games companies in the UK.

The interactive media sector is now the biggest employer in the region, employing 4,400.

We are working to support Yorkshire to become the centre in the UK for interactive media and offer support through our Business Investment Fund. Bringing TV and interactive media companies together to work on cross-platform projects is a key task for our Business Development team.

Leeds based independent TV production company True North secured a large commission with Sunday Life, replacing the BBC's long running Heaven & Earth. True North worked in partnership with Sheffield based interactive media company Quba to win the commission.

Sunday Life broadcasts at 10am, Sundays on BBC1.

Andrew Sheldon, Company Director at True North says: "This is fantastic news - not just for True North, but for the industry in the region, Screen Yorkshire has played a pivotal role in helping us to secure this commission, which will create a significant number of jobs for crew, as well as production and technical."
