Skillset provides a free consultancy service to help independent UK film companies develop their business to be amongst the best in the world and compete successfully in the global marketplace. The scheme offers free human resources support to help companies put in place people strategies to get the best out of their staff.

After leaving ITV in 2009, Alastair Don took the bold step of setting up his own traffic management company, STOP AND SHOOT. Drawing on Alastair's 5 years experience as a Location Manager, Stop and Shoot caters exclusively to the TV and Film industries:Screen Yorkshire's Production Liaison team has been outstanding in offering up their time and assistance and providing me with valuable contacts. They have also been able to support me with funding for crucial training, without which I would not have been able to get off the ground. Their crew finding database, Northern Exposure, has been particularly useful, helping me to find and employ outstanding and hard working crew.
Since its inception less than 3 months ago, Stop and Shoot has gained credits on productions such as The Gemma Factor (Freeform Productions for BBC3), Five Days II (BBC), Morrison's Commercial (Outsider Films) and Emmerdale (ITV,) none of which would have been possible without Screen Yorkshire's support.
