Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows
If you’ve seen the first part of the final film in the Harry Potter series and you’re familiar with the Yorkshire Dales, then you might recognise the backdrop in some of the scenes. The striking landscape around Malham, including the Limestone Paving, Tarn and Cove, all play a part in Harry’s final adventure with Ron and Hermione as they race against time and evil through the countryside on their dangerous mission to locate and destroy Voldemort's remaining Horcruxes.
Screen Yorkshire worked with the locations team on the hugely anticipated Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Heyday Films for Warner Bros. Pictures) to help them find the perfect backdrop for the atmospheric scenes, which were filmed there in November 2009. The second part of the film will be released in July 2011. It is the latest in a line of films in the phenomenally successful Harry Potter series that has filmed scenes in Yorkshire. The first two - Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001) and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002) - both filmed scenes at Goathland train station in North Yorkshire, which doubled as a station on the route of the infamous and magical Hogwarts Express.
SYNOPSIS
Voldemort's power is growing stronger. He now has control over the Ministry of Magic and Hogwarts. Harry, Ron, and Hermione decide to finish Dumbledore's work and find the rest of the Horcruxes to defeat the Dark Lord. But little hope remains for the Trio, and the rest of the Wizarding World, so everything they do must go as planned.
Harry has been burdened with a dark, dangerous and seemingly impossible task: that of locating and destroying Voldemort's remaining Horcruxes. Never has Harry felt so alone, or faced a future so full of shadows, but Harry must somehow find within himself the strength to complete the task he has been given. He must leave the warmth, safety and companionship of The Burrow and follow without fear or hesitation the inexorable path laid out for him.
