TALENT DEVELOPMENT FUNDING
Screen Yorkshire distributes Regional Investment Fund for England (RIFE) lottery awards on behalf of the UK Film Council. We are now calling for applications from writers and producers under two new funding priorities aimed at supporting the development of high-quality film and moving image media activity in the Yorkshire and Humber region: First Sparks and Spark Plus.FIRST SPARKS
This funding is to support the development of high quality projects from writers based in the Yorkshire and Humber region.This strand is open to individual writers looking to work with a recognised industry script editor or mentor to develop either a treatment or a script for a feature film. Awards are up to £1,500 for script development with a smaller amount expected for treatment development and projects that have already reached draft stage. SPARK PLUS
There are two strands available under this funding priority:
Strand 1: Producer Led Development
This strand is open to Yorkshire and Humber based producers and production companies looking to work with Yorkshire and Humber writers to develop feature projects. This strand also covers costs for additional editor and mentor support should you choose (though it will be part of the award).
Strand 2: Seed Funding
This funding is to support producers and production companies with projects once they have completed script development. You do not need to have previously received Screen Yorkshire development funding to apply for this strand.
Awards will be made up to £10,000. Match funding must be provided at a minimum of 30% of the total project costs. This amount can be provided as cash or in kind support. These strands will have a single deadline: 03 September 2010. More info>
