IGDA Chapter meet - Newcastle 16th April (02/04/2009)
The north-east chapter of the International Games Developer Association is meeting on 16th April in Newcastle with speakers including Ian Bowden from Rockstar Leeds.
The event will commence at 6:30pm on the 16th of April 2009 at the Centre of Life, although talks will not begin until 7:30, and it will continue until late. The event is free and you do not need to be an IGDA member to come along, so feel free to invite colleagues!
The evening will feature 2 presentations:
The Art Of GTA Chinatown Wars
Ian Bowden, Lead Artist, Rockstar Leeds
"A talk about the sprite based work and other artwork done for GTA Chinatown Wars by Rockstar Leeds..."
Communicating Themes and Ideas through Interaction
Steve Lee, Game Designer, Midway Newcastle
"A talk on some of the ways in which games can communicate themes and ideas interactively, and how this relates to games as education, games as art, and hopefully games making loads of money somewhere along the way..."
There will be time to network both before and after the talks.
