Yorkshire games companies have made a huge impact on this year's Develop Awards with no less than 11 different award nominations. Rockstar Leeds, developer of the top-rated Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars has been nominated for four awards including Visual Arts and Best Handheld Games Studio, Sheffield's Sumo Digital has been nominated for two awards including Best Independent Developer and Revolution from York is up for a Business Development award.
In the game audio/soundtrack categories, Pit Stop Productions has been nominated for two awards including Creative Outsourcing along with Outsource Media UK, while Media Mill from York has been recognised for its work on Empire: Total War.
"The number of award nominations and breadth of categories is more evidence of how Yorkshire and Humber companies are leading the world in games development," said Jamie Sefton, Sector Manager of Game Republic.
The Develop Industry Excellence Awards will take place on Wednesday July 15th at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Brighton. The full list of Yorkshire nominations is below.
