Case StudyLocation Manager - Charlie Thompson
Charlie Thompson recently moved to Yorkshire after working all over the UK and abroad as a location manager. After working on The Bad Mother's Handbook, starring Catherine Tate and made by Ruby TV, he has recently been working on a drama by Tiger Aspect set in Bradford's Pakistani Community:
"I think this project will become my favourite Yorkshire based film. Not only was it a pleasure to work on both in terms of the wonderful crew, the great locations and the support of all aspects of the community, particularly in Bradford, but I also think it will be a truly wonderful and positive film for the region," says Charlie.
Charlie is also grateful for the support Screen Yorkshire gave both
these projects and is enthusiastic about what the region offers productions:
"Screen Yorkshire was very much involved in the beginning of both these projects, particularly the last where they were able to provide vital links and advice on strategy in the community. After this they tend to let the production get on with it, but are always there to help in the background if needed. Professionally Yorkshire is a treasure trove of locations, partly stemming from its fascinating history. Whether it's magnificent country houses or back to backs, or the variety of architecture and materials seen in Yorkshire's towns and cities, or the wonderful landscapes or the old mills, it's a wonder even more productions aren't attracted north."
