Skillset announce first Media Academy in Yorkshire (14/12/2007)
The University of Bradford in partnership with East Coast Media will make up one of 17 Skillset Media Academies as part of the world's first Media Academy Network established across the UK. The network is a national footprint of colleges and universities to work with the industry in developing a new wave of talent to create the ‘Facebook’, ‘You Tube’ and ‘Bebo’ style concepts and media content of the future.
The network devised by Skillset (the UK Sector Skills Council for the Audi Visual Industries) is made up of 17 academies, already centres of excellence in television and interactive media, drawing together creative education partnerships from 43 colleges and universities across the UK.
