Yorkshire Independents top network production volume in the North (21/02/2008)
Yorkshire has been identified as the north's leading producer of independent production hours for network distribution by a report out this month announcing key figures around the Nations and Regions independent film and television industry.
The Production Trend Report for Out of London commissioned by PACT surveyed independent production companies outside of the M25, measuring trends of volume and estimated value of network television production. Yorkshire and Humber saw an increase of 60.4 independent broadcast hours, from 397.1 hours in 2004 to 457.5 hours in 2006. The other northern regions experienced a decrease in volume of hours produced by independent production companies over the same period.
