Sustainability Action Planning Workshop (21/09/2010)
Creative Industries Knowledge Transfer Network is going to be running two workshops in September to explore what sustainability means for you and your industry and what needs to be done in order to change the status quo and seize the opportunities that the big challenges ahead create.Through interactive workshop sessions, facilitated by Forum for the Future, we're going to explore the major implications for the creative industries over the coming 20 years. We've sketched out the implications from the commonalities across 4 plausible future scenarios of 2030.These workshops will define a set of actions for the creative industries, which will be published later in the autumn. If you're interested in attending please register using the links below. There are only have 30 places available for each workshop and we'll be selecting the participants to ensure we have a good representation from all 13 industries; we'll let you know by 27th August if you have a place at the session.
The UK's creative industries are great inventors and harnessers of technology as well as having an impressive track record of interpreting innovation. This Beacon Project will examine how creative businesses will use their skills and experience to help other sectors meet the challenge of sustainability as well as become more sustainable themselves. Widely recognized as one of the major changes facing the economy, sustainability presents both challenges and opportunities for creative businesses to forge partnerships with other organisations, or take the lead to employ their design skills, innovative thinking and technical knowledge to tackle some of the biggest challenges of modern life.
