BUNNY AND THE BULL WINS ‘BEST ACHIEVEMENT IN PRODUCTION' AT THE BIFAS: 07 DECEMBER 2009

The team behind the long-awaited feature film debut from the Director of cult BBC comedy The Mighty Boosh (Paul King) are celebrating the film's award for ‘Best Achievement in Production' at last night's British Independent Film Awards.' BUNNY AND THE BULL', which is in cinemas now, is the latest release from Sheffield-based digital film studio Warp X. Screen Yorkshire invested in the film through its Production Fund. More>

ITV INVESTMENT PROMISES BRIGHT FUTURE FOR PRODUCTION IN LEEDS

Yorkshire Forward, Leeds City Council and Screen Yorkshire have welcomed ITV plans for the £5million redevelopment of the Kirkstall Road studios in Leeds.The investment will see the original main building upgraded and refurbished to accommodate the Emmerdale production centre, which is currently situated on Burley Road, as well as putting in place first class High Definition facilities. SUNDANCE SHINES SPOTLIGHT ON YORKSHIRE'S WORLD CLASS FILM INDUSTRY: 03 DECEMBER 2009

The Sundance Film Festival has announced its competition line-up today, which features two films made by Yorkshire production companies. Son of Babylon (Human Film) and Four Lions (Warp Films) will both screen in the ‘World Cinema Dramatic Competition' at Sundance, the key annual international festival for independent cinema, which takes place in Utah from 21st - 31st January 2010. EUROGAMER EXPO HEADS NORTH - 13 OCTOBER 2009

Europe's biggest consumer gaming event will be heading North in two weeks' time as the 2009 Eurogamer Expo debuts at The Royal Armouries in Leeds on 27 and 28 October. For the first time ever, video-gamers from the North of England won't have to travel to London to be the first to sample the biggest pre-release games, as the Eurogamer Expo - which will feature several world and European premieres - heads to Leeds before moving on to London.
