3D in their Faces - watch our highlights videos (23/11/2010)

On 21 and 22 October, the National Media Museum in Bradford opened its doors to over 300 delegates for 3D IN YOUR FACE; a two-day, cross-platform conference which explored the world of 3D developments across film, TV, games and interactive technologies. Featuring sessions led by 15 industry experts from across Europe, the diverse programme of sessions offered something for everybody; from rigs and kit to 3D animation. The first day of the conference examined and debated developments across gaming and interactive technologies, closing with a panel debate: ‘Is 3D the future of Gaming?', featuring representatives from Edge Magazine and Crytek. The sessions on day two covered 3D film and TV from content development to production through to post production and VFX. Conference highlights included Neil Dodgson's (University of Cambridge) whistle-stop tour of the history of stereoscopic 3D development; Simon Gosling's (Framestore) presentation of a journey through the 3D VFX of Avatar; NVIDIA technology evangelist Phil Scott on the history and potentialities of 3D and Andrew Oliver, Blitz Games Studios co-founder and CTO, who presented a helicopter view of 3D gaming technology.
