Digital Film Archive Fund - Call for Applications (08/10/2010)
Screen Yorkshire distributes Digital Film Archive Fund (DFAF) awards on behalf of the UK Film Council. This is a focused call for projects addressing very specific technical solutions for archive content needing additional support to be digitised, catalogued and made available to a wider public. The call is looking to address issues which require technical innovation rather than investment through existing technology. Ideally the award will support the preservation and digitisation of specific content as well as developing techniques and technology to be shared with wider screen heritage sector.
DFAF:
The Digital Archive Fund is a UK Film Council lottery fund set up to increase public access to regional screen heritage. Used strategically, the money will ensure that access to screen heritage is provided to as many people as possible through a variety of platforms (i.e. through screenings, festivals, online, and public spaces). The Fund aligns with the vision of the Strategy for UK Screen Heritage that the public is entitled to access, learn about and enjoy its rich screen heritage wherever they live and wherever materials are held; for more detailed information please visit www.bfi.org.uk/screenheritage.
