LIFF25 Passes now on sale – Major Events Announced! (13/07/2011)

LIFF25 Passes are now on sale, frozen at last year's prices to celebrate a special anniversary edition, taking place from 3rd –20th November 2011, with more films and screenings than ever before. Passes have been launched at the Early Bird rate of £80 for a single pass and £140 for a double pass. Last year Pass holder saved an average of over £60 compared to the cost of buying individual tickets.

The LIFF25 Pass provides incredible value for money, giving access to every individual screening throughout the packed 18 day programme, across all sections including Official Selection, Fanomenon, Cinema Versa, Short Film City and more. PLUS the LIFF25 pass also gives reduced entry to LIFF25 Major Events including Fanomenon marathons and Paul Merton's Silent Clowns (the only exclusion is the Thought Bubble Festival Convention).

Paul Merton's Silent Clowns Live and Exclusive at Leeds Town Hall

This year, LIFF announces a fantastic and exclusive treat! On Wednesday 9th November, Paul Merton will appear at Leeds Town Hall to host Silent Clowns, a night of silent film comedy genius. Silent Clowns will feature the Harold Lloyd classic Safety Last!, plus Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton and Laurel & Hardy in hilarious extracts, all introduced by Paul Merton and accompanied by world renowned pianist Neil Brand with the Prima Vista Social Club band. Live in the stunning setting of Leeds Town Hall with their giant cinema screen, Silent Clowns will be a laughter-filled and family-friendly highlight of the year for all fans of film, music and comedy. The show will start at 7.15pm and tickets will go fast, so get yours first!

Fanomenon Night of the Dead XI at the Hyde Park Picture House

The annual highlight for fans of horror, Night of the Dead returns during LIFF25 on Saturday 5th November at its regular haunt, Hyde Park Picture House from 11pm. The Night of the Dead XI programme will feature an incomparable selection of horror exclusives, stunning shorts, special guests, and all the usual fun and games audiences have come to love over the past decade. Fanomenon Day of the Dead 5 at the refurbished City Varieties

This year we are delighted to announce that LIFF25 will return to the legendary City Varieties to present for Fanomenon Day of the Dead 5 on Saturday 12th November from 12 noon. Following its recent refurbishment, the City Varieties will throw open its doors to a feast of films, guests and surprises specially selected by the Fanomenon programming team to showcase the vast universe of the horror genre. Thought Bubble Festival Comic Convention Extended

Celebrating the world of sequential art - including comic books, graphic novels, gaming and storyboarding - the 5th Thought Bubble Festival returns as part of LIFF25 with a huge programme of free workshops, masterclasses and special events across the city. The centrepiece event of Thought Bubble is the UK's greatest comic convention at Saviles Hall and Royal Armouries Hall, two massive exhibition spaces in Leeds. This year's event will be a two day spectacular on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th November, featuring 100s of exhibitors from independent artists to retailers from all over the country along with a massive line up of some of the world's biggest comic book writers and artists from around the world.
