New BFI and Regional Film Archive film clips (06/10/2011)
Over the next few weeks the BFI are releasing several short film clips to promote the Screen Heritage UK programme. Screen Yorkshire manages the Revitalising the Regions investment strand into the regional film archives. Thanks to over £22.8 million in funding from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), this major collaboration between the BFI, Screen Yorkshire and regional film archives across the UK represents a historic moment for film archives, encompassing digital innovation and pioneering new methods of film archiving.
Thanks to Screen Heritage UK the nation's archive film records can now also be searched online via the Search Your Film Archive facility, present on the BFI and all Regional Film Archives' websites. Visit Yorkshire Film Archive to search the nation's film heritage.
