RTS Student Awards arrive in Bradford (24/05/2011)
The RTS Student Television Awards & Masterclasses, sponsored by Welcome to Yorkshire, took place on 20th May at the National Media Museum, Bradford. This is the first time the awards have been held outside London and Yorkshire girl Charlotte Blacker won Best Undergraduate Animation for her film 'The Little Red Plane.'
Charlotte, who studied at the University of Lancashire, was delighted with her award: "I am happy and still a little shocked to have one this award. I am so pleased that the RTS decided to host the awards up north this year as the public need to now that we have talented people throughout the UK and it is not just concentrated in certain areas. It was a great day and a good opportunity to see some great work. Thank you RTS."
Charlotte now commutes every week from her home in Wakefield to work as Production Assistant at Loose Moose Productions in Soho as well as working on her own animations.
