Super Shorts 2011: Call for Entries (12/10/2011)
Super Shorts' mission is to find the best short films around the globe to celebrate and identify emerging independent filmmakers providing them with a platform to showcase their work. Deadline: November 4th.
The super shorts international film festival has enjoyed a rich and diverse history over the last 8 years. It is one of the leading Independent short film festivals in Britain and the most prominent free festival in London. Created by Talent Circle in 2003, the festival has proceeded to screen over 1000 short films, hold 100 events and has awarded over £35,000 in cash and prizes.
For the first time in the super shorts history, this years event will embrace an environmentally friendly philosophy. Announced for this years opening night gala special presentation is PJ Harvey’s 2011 mercury music award winning album ‘Let England Shake’ films. PJ Harvey has collaborated with the award-winning war-reportage photographer and filmmaker Seamus Murphy and they have created twelve Short films to accompany each of the tracks on her critically acclaimed album 'Let England Shake'. The films exist as 12 individual short films and will be presented at super shorts as one whole piece on the opening night.
