TYRANNOSAUR GETS WORLD PREMIERE (18/01/2011)
Actor Paddy Considine’s (Dead Man’s Shoes, Red Riding) directorial feature debut TYRANNOSAUR will have its world premiere later this month as part of the World Cinema Dramatic Competition at Sundance Film Festival before going on to have its European premiere at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. The film, which was co-financed by Screen Yorkshire, shot in Leeds and Wakefield in the spring of 2010.
Starring Peter Mullan (My Name is Joe, Trainspotting), Olivia Colman (Peep Show, Hot Fuzz) and Eddie Marsden (Happy Go Lucky, Vera Drake). Tyrannosaur is the story of Joseph (Peter Mullan) a man plagued by violence and a rage that is driving him to self-destruction. As Joseph's life spirals into turmoil a chance of redemption appears in the form of Hannah (Olivia Colman), a Christian charity shop worker. Their relationship develops to reveal that Hannah is hiding a secret of her own with devastating results on both of their lives. The film will have its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on 21st January 2011.
Considine not only makes his directorial debut at the festival but will be appearing on screen in Richard Ayode’s teen romance SUBMARINE, which will also feature at Sundance. Tyrannosaur will then go on to have its European premiere as part of the Bright Future programme of first and second feature films at the International Film Festival Rotterdam.
