The Foundation Placement Scheme

The Foundation Placement Scheme (FPS) is a Positive Action training initiative which seeks to address ethnic minority under-representation in the media and broadcasting workforce in Yorkshire & Humber. It is a 12 month, pre-entry level, paid, vocational training scheme delivered through Screen Yorkshire with funding from Yorkshire Forward and in partnership with ITV Yorkshire, BBC and Skillset. Hands-on industry training is delivered in different placement roles at ITV, BBC and independent production and multimedia companies, with the aim to give talented individuals the opportunity to gain skills, experience and networks in order to kick-start a career in media & broadcasting. This short film showcases the experiences of former trainees who found a career in media through the Foundation Placement Scheme.
