Foundation Placement Scheme: Meet the Trainees
DANIEL SHANNON, MUSIC ASSISTANT TRAINEE
Daniel trained as a Music Assistant in the music rights and casting departments of ITV Yorkshire before moving on to work as a Script Assistant. He is now a Post-Production Script Supervisor for Emmerdale.
"Throughout the scheme I was offered constant support and advice which allowed me to grow and flourish as an individual. The group training sessions were a great opportunity to catch-up with fellow trainees and enabled me to learn more through others' experiences and networking.
When my placement came to an end I was employed by the Casting Department before moving to work on Emmerdale. I worked as a Script Assistant for two years before getting a junior management role. I've now been working on the soap for five years and I'm currently working as a Post-Production Script Supervisor.
My name can now be seen on the end credits of Emmerdale - which along with recognising my talent, also sends out a message that opportunity coupled with hard work can produce some fantastic results - and long term career prospects."
DWIT MEHTA, MOTION GRAPHICS ANIMATOR TRAINEE

Dwit trained as a Motion Graphics Animator at Leeds-based Mezzo Films before going into full-time employment with the company as an animator.
"Thanks to the Foundation Placement Scheme I gained a year of real-life industry experience and have had the chance to make great contacts. Whilst I was on the scheme I was really well supported with things such as CV checking and training days, and the progress I made in just one year was amazing.
I have always wanted to be involved with animation and I feel that I have learned more on the Foundation Placement Scheme than a University course could ever have taught me."
