Glimmer 2010: Call for Entries

The 8th edition of GLIMMER: The Hull International Short Film Festival will take place from 19 - 25 April 2010 and, once again, is inviting filmmakers to take part in the biggest short film festival in the North of England. During its 7th edition - it's most successful ever - GLIMMER screened in excess of 200 films, more than 50 of which were premieres, from across the world and awarded more than £2000 of prize money to filmmakers.

Presenting a diverse selection of films, including dramas, documentaries, artists film and video and animation, the selected films for the 2010 edition will be eligible for such awards as the Glimmer International Award, Glimmer UK Award and Glimmer Yorkshire Award all of which will, once again, come with cash prizes for the winning filmmakers.

Submitted films must be under 45 minutes long and made after 1st January 2008. Aside from these restrictions, GLIMMER encourages people to send in films of all types and genres. GLIMMER also welcomes music video submissions.

Once again, GLIMMER will allow filmmakers to choose how much they wish to pay in submission fees (if, indeed, they want to pay anything at all). After the huge success of the scheme last year it is hoped that unique system of entry fees will continue to encourage people to enter their films into the festival.

GLIMMER Director Laurence Boyce said:

"We're really excited to once again call for submissions for the next edition of GLIMMER. After our huge success last year, we look forward to welcoming the newest and most exciting films from all corners of the globe. If you have a film, please send it as soon as you can as we're eager to start watching some exciting films!"

Full information on submitting films to GLIMMER: The 8th Hull International Short Film Festival can be found on the entry form, which can be downloaded at www.hullflm.co.uk.
