It is established, funded and run by its Member Companies, whose donations are invested strategically in appropriate training and development initiatives.

Member Companies make annual donations to ITF to fund training initiatives for the sector, including ITF’s short courses programme, in.indie scheme, open forum events, and the newly launched ITF Freelancer scheme.

Training areas include Creative Development; Production; People Skills; Business, Finance & Legal; and short courses.

Case StudyFaye Alexander, Trainee Production Secretary

The Cottage I first got in touch with Screen Yorkshire when I applied for the Fast Track trainee scheme and worked on two productions as Trainee Production Secretary. Working as a trainee 4 years ago led straight on to paid employment, and I have been working non-stop since then as a Production Co-ordinator in documentaries such as Animal 24:7 and The Canoe Man - John Darwin, and Production Secretary in feature films and TV dramas such as The Cottage (pictured), Heartbeat and The Royal Today.

Not only did Screen Yorkshire help me with funding for further training during my fast track placements, but the Production Liaison team has been a wonderful source of assistance in enhancing my CV and putting me in touch with Line Producers. Their Crew and Freelance Development Manager is always on hand to answer my questions and guide me in the right direction, and I have met so many friends and colleagues through the crew networking nights.
