The New York film academy is a prestigious school of film and acting. Lots of big name actors and directors regularly speak there, so in terms of gaining experience this course is invaluable.

This course is in photography re-touching. This may also be useful when using the applies photography into story boards to further visualize what image of the film you have in your head or even to retouch photos to be used as props for the film.

There are all courses in film editing programs. These programs are all very similar and all have different features but essentially they do a very similar job. However there is an internal snobbery about what program you use to edit as Avid is often the preferred choice for big films. Even though each program does the same job it is useful to know how to edit on all programs as some employers will have preferences.

These are two writing courses (Part time 12 weeks) at the University of Bolton. Both of these courses offer writing courses specific to a particular type of production, drama or short film. Something to note would be how the difference in budget and length of the writing alters the content of what can and cannot be in the script.

This is the BBC's free online course list for all types of media related subjects. As they are free they are a great opportunity to learn at no cost to yourself and some of the learning resources on here are great especially the section on producing short films.

The lab works through BBC Scotland and offers people with no or very little media production background a chance to make something online with the footage or pictures they have as well as giving advice on how to do it. This website is very much aimed at a much younger target audience.

This is the BBC jobs section where you can search for specific jobs in certain locations ranging from jobs with much needed experience to traineeships. They also have detailed information on what it takes to perform the jobs needed within the BBC.
