Administrative Assistant, 'Beyond Brontës'

An opportunity has arisen to join Screen Yorkshire’s small team, based in central Leeds, to work as an administrative assistant on our Beyond Brontës programme.

Beyond Brontës is designed to break down the perceived and actual barriers that can prevent young people from diverse backgrounds, between the ages of 18 – 24, break into a career in the screen industries.

We need somebody who is highly organised, has an attention to detail and can work proactively. As the first point of contact for the programme, this role requires a person with a confident telephone and communication manner. There are no specific qualifications needed for this job, but previous administrative experience is required.

We want to build a cohort of young people with the skills, ideas, experience and confidence to enter a broadcast media landscape that is continually changing and evolving. You can read more about the programme here.

As Administrative Assistant, your main duties will include:

  • You will need to help ensure the Beyond Brontës programme is compliant with GDPR and data protection legislation
  • Using evaluation software, to track and gather Beyond Brontës programme data, and generate reports to help the Programme Manager monitor key aspects of the programme

  • As directed by the Programme Manager, liaising with key partners and industry bodies nationally and regionally, including ScreenSkills, BFI, West Yorkshire College Consortium and Bradford UNESCO City of Film
  • Issuing industry placement agreements and confirming industry placement interview arrangements
