Crew & Logistics

Although we know and have worked with a large number of local crew, being a streamlined company with a small number of staff, Screen Yorkshire no longer runs or maintains a dedicated crew database.

Our head of production Richard Knight (tel: 07887 952 179 or email can offer informal ideas and advice on crew, but by far the best and most complete crew database is held by Creative England

Facilities and Suppliers

As with crew, a comprehensive list of all of Yorkshire’s myriad suppliers to the film industry (in all of their many guises) is held by Creative England, with Richard Knight available for informal ideas and advice.

Yorkshire boasts several world-class casting agencies including the popular and successful Yorkshire School of Acting

For Supporting Artistes, the Oakroyd Agency Star Casting UK and IPM have a large portfolio of people of any age, and an impressive list of clients.

Hotels and Accommodation

For hotels, we have been able to sort some very good deals with the Queens Hotel in Leeds and the Hampton by Hilton in Sheffield.  Both of these hotels are regularly used by productions and are therefore used to the long hours and last minute accommodation adjustments which come with a busy, ever-changing shoot.

The Marriott Hotel in Leeds is also a firm favourite with cast and crews.

The Jury’s Inn (hotels across the whole of Yorkshire) are also extremely film friendly, with good deals on bulk accommodation.

Good long-term apartment deals are available with Roomzzz in Leeds, and for even longer stays, Morgans Letting Agency in Leeds has a large portfolio of excellent apartments with an attractive rent + bills option which negates the need for a lot of admin.

Lund Farm, equidistant from Gateforth, Brayton and Hambleton, is just an 8 mile drive from Church Fenton along relatively quiet roads. They have two four-star graded self-catering cottages. Prices are negotiable for longer term stays. Visit:
