The Fund is a co-investment fund which invests on identical commercial terms to the private sector. All investments from the Fund will be matched by at least 50% of the funding being provided by private sector investors. There will be no subordination of the fund to the interests of the private sector co-investors, i.e. they will not take preferential shares or security, or have different exit rights and will share the same level of risk and reward.

Who can't we help?

Any business or company which does not have its principal place of business or a material part of its operations, people or trading in Yorkshire unless as a condition of the Investment that business or company is required to re-locate its business or its trading activities to within Yorkshire .

  • Non SMEs - An SME is a business employing less than 250 employees, with an annual turnover of less than 50m Euros or have balance sheet net assets of less than 43m Euros. The business cannot be part of a larger group employing more than 250 employees where the group owns at least a 25% share of the business
  • Companies seeking loans or equity investment into their day-to-day business
  • Re-financing existing commercial borrowing
  • Failing businesses
  • Companies working outside the creative industries
  • Any business or company which cannot demonstrate that they are unable to obtain the requested finance through mainstream/commercial investors/lenders in Yorkshire
  • Any company or business which cannot demonstrate that it has in place appropriate environmental, health and safety, equal opportunities and disability policies/statements
