66A pioneering multi-format drama headed up by Game of Thrones stars Natalie Tena and Iwan Rhoen, was released as 3 x 45 min episodes on Netflix. Set in London but filmed primarily in Leeds with investment from Screen Yorkshire’s Yorkshire Content Fund, Residue tracks the aftermath of a devastating explosion on the city and the government conspiracy that might be concealing the truth.

Initially conceived as a feature film, the multi-format production, distributed by Content Media, had a limited theatrical release earlier this month before its premiere on Netflix on 31 March in the UK, US, Australia and New Zealand. Residue is created by John Harrison, directed by Alex Garcia Lopez and produced by Charlotte Walls for LWH Entertainment.

Residue filmed at a wide range of locations in Leeds, including; Mojo’s Bar, Canal Wharf, University of Leeds, Assembly Street, Call Lane, Globe Road, Duke Street, Braimes Pressings, Leeds Minster, Crescent Grange, Little London, Merrion Street, Vicar Lane, Lower Briggate, Chaophraya, Dark Arches, Queens Hotel, County Arcade, Bedford Street, Leeds Town Hall, Leeds Central Library, Kirkgate Market, The Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield, Little Germany inBradford and Harrogate International Centre.

Following the initial three part run on Netflix, the ambition is to work towards a 10-episode second season, so watch this space!
