The Hunter’s Prayer

The Hunter’s Prayer, a fast paced thriller directed by Jonathan Mostow (Terminator 3, Surrogates, U-571) finished filming last year in Yorkshire, UK.

Producer Chris Milburn said: “We have assembled a great cast, a great core creative team, great locations and we are excited to be starting Principal Photography”.

The film stars Sam Worthington as a solitary assassin hired to kill a teenage girl.  After developing a bond with his target, he comes to the realization he can’t carry out the task.  The hunter then becomes the hunted as both are marked for death and stalked across Europe. Their only hope for survival is to find out why her family was wiped out and bring those responsible to justice.

Odeya Rush (The Odd Life Of Timothy Green, The Giver) Martin Compston (Line of Duty, The Damned United, Sweet SixteenVeronica Echegui (Cold Light of Day, Bunny and the Bull) and Amy Landecker (Said Enough, A Serious Man) round out the stellar cast.

This action packed thriller is a US/UK co-production budgeted at $25 million. Backed by the Ingenious Senior Film Fund, Ingenious Project Finance, Maple Leaf Films, LipSync Productions, and Screen Yorkshire through its Yorkshire Content Fund. Yorkshire and Leeds will double for a host of international locations on The Hunter’s Prayer, with additional scenes to be filmed in Harrogate, Helmsley, Scarborough and Saltaire as well as Hungary.

The Hunter’s Prayer is produced by Navid McIlhargey (Rock’n’Rolla) for Vandal Entertainment  and Anthony Rhulen (Rum Diary) for Film Engine (US), Chris Milburn (Outcast, An American Haunting) for Midsummer Films (UK), John Schwarz, Michael Schwarz, Sam Worthington for Full Clip (US); Tove Christensen and Michael Wexler for Maple Leaf Films (US); Juan Garcia Peredo  for Elipsis Capital (Spain) and Paul Leyden, Paul Rock and Jimmy Costas (US). Based on the critically acclaimed novel For The Dogs by Kevin Wignall, it is adapted for the screen by writers Paul Leyden, Oren Moverman, and John Brancato and Michael Ferris.

Executive Producers include Gavin Poolman from Apollo Media and Duncan Reid for the Ingenious Senior Film Fund, Hugo Heppell for Screen Yorkshire, and Norman Merry and Peter Hampden for LipSync Productions. Sierra/Affinity is handling the International sales.
