Series two of hit children’s comedy drama Hank Zipzer is currently available on iPlayer following its run on CBBC. The show, filmed in Halifax, was secured for the region after investment from Screen Yorkshire through its Yorkshire Content Fund. Following on from the huge success of the first series, which launched at the beginning of 2014, Hank Zipzer has also been commissioned for a third series which has recently finished filming in Yorkshire backed by the Yorkshire Content Fund. The TV show is based on the New York Times best-selling book series, Hank Zipzer: The World’s Greatest Underachiever, which is co-written by Henry Winkler and Lin Oliver and published by Walker Books. Inspired by Henry’s own experiences as a child, the television series follows 12 year old Hank Zipzer, a smart and resourceful boy with dyslexia. Hank sees himself differently to the way the world sees him, so when problems arise he deals with them in a way no-one else would – putting him on a direct collision course with his teachers, Mr Love (played by Nick Mohammed) and Miss Adolf (played by Felicity Montagu), and his parents, Rosa (played by Juliet Cowan) and Stan (played by Neil Fitzmaurice).
