Filming Locations

The locations were amazing and so beautiful. We filmed at massive mansions with huge lawns and gardens. The detail in the architecture was very impressive. I really liked the ceiling in the entrance of Duncombe Park. We were filming all around Yorkshire and the crew did an amazing job at transforming the locations back in time. We filmed the court scenes at Dewsbury Town Hall and it was made to look like the Old Bailey.

Where did 'The Confessions of Frannie Langton' Film?

Screen Yorkshire’s Film Office provided locations and crewing support to The Confessions of Frannie Langton, which shot widely across the region, at locations including: Duncombe Park, Dewsbury Town Hall, South Parade, Wakefield, Dalton Mills, Hull Old Town, Temple Newsam, Versa Leeds Studios, York Mansion House, Bramham Park and Sledmere House, York.

When tasked with scouting for locations on 'The Confessions of Frannie Langton', I was initially apprehensive about finding suitable Georgian locations for the early 1800’s, as the usual safety net of Victorian architecture which is plentiful in northern England would not be appropriate.I quickly found out that, thanks to Screen Yorkshire, there were scores of both private and public film friendly period locations for the creative team to choose from, in addition to the usual venues I already knew about. Altogether the production was an extremely enjoyable experience thanks to Screen Yorkshire, who came to my aid through all stages of the production. I would wholeheartedly recommend them as an essential first and constant port of call throughout the production process, for all those wishing to film in the region.
